Grand Prairie, TX. With a smooth start on the mound from Cody Crowell, and a sturdy back-up performance by the bullpen, the AirHogs managed a solid 6-3 victory over the Shreveport-Bossier Captains to take both the weekend (2-1) and season series (11-10).

The AirHogs put up their first runs in the bottom half of the first inning, starting with a Daniel Berg single to centerfield. After he stole second base, Mike Conroy brought in Berg with a single into right field, followed by a Javier Brito ground rule double down the left field line to place runners at 2nd and 3rd. Chad Gabriel struck out but advanced to 1st when the pitch got by catcher Tommy Bryant, allowing Conroy to come home, for a 2-0 score.

A two-hit, one-run inning put together by Chad Gabriel and JB Tucker hit the board in the 4th inning, before a Cesar Nicolas solo homerun (6th inning) finished off the AirHogs scoring for the night.

Shreveport managed a couple hits but couldn't score until the 6th inning, when an Andres Rodriguez walk was followed by a Jose Torres homerun to leftfield to bring the score to 4-2. The Captains managed three more hits in the 8th inning off of reliever Alex Morales to put their final run on the board when Andres Rodriguez was brought in to score on a Luis Guance infield hit.

Cody Crowell went five full innings, allowing only one run on three hits, and striking out four, for his 8th win of the season. The save was awarded to James Morrison who went 1.2 innings, allowing no hits, and striking out two. Thad Markray takes his ninth loss for the Captains, after going five full innings, and giving up four runs on seven hits.
