Lincoln 14, St. Paul 8 (Completion of suspended game from August 15th)

Lincoln got plenty of offense in this one and rolled to a 14-8 win on the road. Saltdogs 2B Shea McFeely led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI. 1B Steven Alexander chipped in with a 2-for-4 effort in which he doubled, scored a run and drove in three. Lincoln DH Norman Hutchins and C Shawn McGill each homered. Saltdogs reliever Darryl Arreola was credited with his first win thanks to two scoreless innings.

Lincoln 6, St. Paul 2 (Regularly scheduled game - 7 innings)

Saltdogs starting pitcher Tim Brown delivered a great performance on the mound to lead Lincoln to a win and a sweep of St. Paul. Brown allowed two runs on six hits and did not walk a batter in six innings of work on the way to his fifth win of the season. Brown handed things over to closer Chris Thompson in the seventh and Thompson struck out the side in order for his 28th save. With the sweep, the Saltdogs now lead the North Division by four games.

Sioux City 12, Sioux Falls 6 (Completion of suspended game from August 15th)

HR: SC-Jason Colson 2(6), Alex Llanos (6); SF-Joe Dempsey (1), Patrick Reilly (5)

Sioux City got the best of Sioux Falls in a game that featured 18 runs and 33 hits, as they doubled up the Canaries, 12-6. The Explorers tallied 19 of those hits, led by 1B Jason Colson who was 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and four RBI. 2B Alex Llanos also added a homer for Sioux City and was 3-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and a pair driven in. Explorers reliever Tyler Meigs was credited with the win, his first of the season. Sioux Falls C Joe Dempsey and 1B Patrick Reilly each homered in the losing effort.

Sioux Falls 5, Sioux City 3 (Regularly scheduled game - 7 innings)

HR: SC-Justin Nelson (9); SF-JD Reininger (5)

Down 3-0 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, the Sioux Falls Canaries began a one-out, five-run rally that was capped off by a walk-off two-run shot off the bat of RF JD Reininger. With Reininger's only hit of the game, the Canaries picked up a 5-3 win. Sioux Falls reliever Aaron Cotter picked up the win, his third and Sioux City starting pitcher Mike Phelps took the no decision despite pitching well. Sioux City LF Justin Nelson was 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI in the losing effort.

Wichita 2, Fort Worth 1

In a classic pitcher's duel, Wichita starter Gabe Medina battled Fort Worth's Jae Jung through seven innings with the Cats holding a 1-0 lead. The two teams combined for just three hits to that point, but neither pitcher would factor in the decision thanks to a two-run ninth that gave the Wingnuts their 18th win of the second half. Wichita CF Dustan Mohr led the way at the plate, going 1-for-4. Mohr drove home LF Greg Porter to tie the game and later scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch. Reliever Joe D'Alessandro was credited with the win, his first of the season.

Grand Prairie 6, Shreveport-Bossier 3

@ Grand Prairie, TX. Time: 3:10 Attendance: 4,222

HR: SB-Jose Torres (6); GP-Cesar Nicolas (14)

Starting pitcher Cody Crowell allowed one run on three hits through five innings and DH Cesar Nicolas was 2-for-3 with a solo home run to lead Grand Prairie to a 6-3 win against Shreveport-Bossier. With the win, Crowell improved his mark to 8-4 on the season. AirHogs LF Chad Gabriel also had a good game at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a RBI. Grand Prairie closer James Morrison went 1 2/3 innings, retiring all five batters he faced in order to earn his 15th save.

Pensacola 11, El Paso 7

@ El Paso, TX. Time: 3:25 Attendance: 5,237

HR: None

Pensacola C Adam Deleo was 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored and three RBI to lead the Pelicans past El Paso. The Diablos held a 4-3 lead entering the eighth inning, but the Pelicans' offense exploded for five runs in the frame to go up 8-4, then tacked on three more in the ninth and went on to an 11-7 win. Pensacola LF Adam Darby also had three hits in the contest and 2B Antoin Gray doubled and drove in three. Pelicans reliever Ron Hill tossed two scoreless innings and was credited with the win, improving his record to 4-0. El Paso 3B Juan Camacho was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
