Grand Prairie AirHogs News Release

Grand Prairie, TX. Greg Porter hit a three-run home run to help the Grand Prairie AirHogs to a 9-2 victory over Pensacola at QuikTrip Park. The AirHogs salvaged the series finale and finished the homestand with a 4-3 record.

The AirHogs got a strong pitching performance from starter Ryne Tacker. Tacker evened his record at 5-5 by scattering six hits over eight innings and allowing only one earned run. He struck out seven and walked four.

David Espinosa, meanwhile, collected his 98th hit of the season, a RBI triple in the bottom of the first inning that gave Grand Prairie a quick 1-0 lead. Espinosa's triple was one of three for the AirHogs as Michael Hollimon and Robert Perry both hit RBI triples in a seven-run fourth inning.

Porter's home run highlighted that seven-run inning and it came off losing pitcher Jared Gothreaux. Porter's home run cleared the fence in left center scoring Daniel Berg and Antoin Gray and it was his 108th hit of the season and gave him 69 RBI.

In the eighth, Perry added another RBI hit with a blooper to right that scored Hollimon from second. Hollimon had led with a double.

The AirHogs will visit Fort Worth beginning Friday at 7:05 p.m. and will play a double-header with the Cats on Saturday. Grand Prairie will then visit El Paso before returning home Aug. 13 against Fort Worth.
