
AirHogs snap Wingnuts streak

Wichita Wingnuts News Release
Wichita, KS- The Wingnuts fell to the the Grand Prairie AirHogs 5-4 on Saturday in front of 4,595 fans at Lawrence Dumont Stadium, ending their five-game winning streak.
Wingnuts starter Derek Blacksher cruised for six innings with a 2-0 lead, but was unable to survive the seventh, allowing four runs on four hits. The Wingnuts re-tied the game in the bottom of the inning on an RBI groundout by Greg Porter and a Kelly Hunt RBI single. The AirHogs though reclaimed the lead in the eighth on an RBI double by Derek Nicholson.
The Wingnuts put two men on base in the ninth with one out put left the tying run on third to end the game. Greg Krause picked up the win, while James Morrison notched his 19th save of the season. Porter went 1-4 with two RBI for Wichita, while four AirHogs notched two hits.
The playoff bound Wingnuts will host Grand Prairie on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. in their regular season finale. Brad Davis will get the start. For tickets call the Wingnuts office at (316) 264-4625.
