Fort Worth Cats News Release

Javier Brito and JB Tucker each hit second-inning solo homers as the AirHogs defeated the Cats 2-1 in front of 4,103 fans at LaGrave Field on Wednesday night.

The two runs were all the offense for the AirHogs on the ninth as both Brito and Tucker went deep to left in the second against Cats' starter Jae Jung. Jung would go on to retire 21 of the next 24 batter, lasting eight innings and permitting two runs on five hits.

The Cats got on the scoreboard in the fifth inning as Ryan Patterson led off the inning with a single. A Kelley Gulledge ground out sent Patterson to second before Isa Garcia singled to center, scoring Patterson to make it 2-1.

The Cats left a runner in scoring position in the fifth, two in the sxith and one in the seventh as they were unable to collect a big hit to tie the game. They went in order in the eighth against reliever Vinnie DeChristofaro before James Morrison closed it out in the ninth for his 11th save of the season.

AirHogs starter Dimitri Camareno (3-0) notched his second win against the Cats this season as he went 6 2/3 innings, permitted a run on five hits with a season-high six strikeouts. Jung (4-3) took the loss despite working at least eight innings for the fifth time this season.

The Cats hit the road for a three-game series with Pensacola beginning Friday night. Game time is 6:35 p.m. with Matt Gibbs going to the hill for the Cats.
