Zdenek Kutlak scored his first goal of the season at the 3:28 mark of overtime, giving Providence a 6-5 win over Portland on Friday night. The Pirates scored four times in the final 9:21 of regulation to erase deficits of 4-1 and 5-4, with Colin Forbes' goal with eight seconds left forcing overtime. Pat Leahy and Martin Samuelsson each found the net twice and Keith Aucoin registered three assists for the Bruins, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Syracuse's Karl Goehring made 36 saves and Matt Dzieduszycki scored early in the second period as Syracuse beat Binghamton on Friday, 1-0. Goehring extended his shutout streak to a franchise record 197:04 before allowing a goal late in Saturday's 3-1 victory over Philadelphia, and currently leads the AHL with a 1.14 GAA in seven appearances this season.

After being shut out for over 56-1/2 minutes, Manitoba got power play goals from Jason King and Ryan Ready to forge a 2-2 tie with San Antonio on Saturday night. Wade Flaherty finished with 31 saves for the Rampage, who also kept the Moose off the board for the second half of Friday's game, also a 2-2 deadlock in Winnipeg. San Antonio has just one win in nine road games, while Manitoba improved to 5-1-2-0 on home ice.

Randy Petruk stopped 42 shots to give Lowell a 4-2 win over Saint John on Sunday. It was the Flames' second straight loss after opening their nine-game road trip with three wins, while the Lock Monsters won for just the second time in seven outings. Jeff Heerema had two goals and an assist to lead Lowell; Oleg Saprykin scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season for Saint John.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Philadelphia opens a two-game set in West Valley City tonight (7:00 MT, 9:00 ET) against the Utah Grizzlies. The Phantoms are 1-3-1-1 on the road this season, while Utah is 6-5-0-1 at the "E" Center as they close out a nine-game homestand. Jon Sim leads the Grizz with 13 assists and 17 points in 12 games, and Jim Montgomery, a member of the Phantoms' 1998 Calder Cup championship team, is second in team scoring with 14 points. Philly's Mark Greig and his team-high 10 goals remain on recall to the NHL Flyers.

Hartford visits San Antonio on Tuesday (7:00 CT, 8:00 ET) after a pair of losses in Utah last week. The Wolf Pack were 5-0-2-1 in their previous eight games before heading west, and they still own the highest-scoring offense in the AHL at 4.27 goals per game. Dixon Ward, the MVP of the 1996 Calder Cup Playoffs with Rochester, has a team-high 15 points in 10 games with Hartford, and defenseman Mike Mottau leads the league with a plus-17 rating.
