
Aeros Sign Chris Lawrence to PTO

HOUSTON --- Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill today announced the American Hockey League (NHL) club has signed right wing Chris Lawrence to a professional tryout contract (PTO).
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Toronto native has appeared in 49 games this season with the Stockton Thunder (ECHL), totaling 46 points (21-25-46) and 70 penalty minutes (PIM). He currently stands as the Thunder leader in goals and points.
Lawrence makes his second AHL appearance of the season, previously skating in six games with the Worcester Sharks, where he had one goal and 15 (PIM).
Selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning (89th overall) in the third round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, the 24-year old has totaled 179 games in the AHL with Norfolk and Worcester, scoring 32 points (11-21-32) and 133 PIM.
The Aeros continue a three-in-three weekend on Saturday with a game at Texas against the Stars. Fans can watch the game for free at the official Aeros Away Game Watch Party Headquarters, the Maple Leaf Pub (Smith at Elgin in Houston). Face off is set for 7 p.m. The Aeros return home on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. against the Abbotsford Heat.
