Aerodynamics.

. Recapping. The Aeros won a continuation game 8-7 and lost a second game 9-7 in a seven inning game originally scheduled for nine frames Tuesday Night at First Energy Stadium. The continuation game was originally started on July 25th. The continuation game was suspended in the bottom of the fourth with the score tied 5-5 when rain halted play. Reading resumed action adding two more runs in the inning when Tagg Bozied hit a two RBI double. The Aeros responded when Head, who joined the team from Class AAA Columbus on the same day, hit a three-run home run to take the lead 8-7. Right-handed pitcher Rob Bryson earned his first win for Akron in relief. Lefty Nick Hagadone came on with one out in the seventh and pitched 2.2 shutout innings with a strikeout and walk to earn the save. Sergio Escalona (2-7) took the loss, allowing three runs, two earned, on Head's home run.

. Originally scheduled. Akron scored four runs in the first on third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall's RBI double and first baseman Beau Mills three-run home run. The R-Phils responded with a two-run homer by Bozied. The Aeros added another in the top of the second when Kipnis doubled to left field scoring shortstop Cristo Arnal. Reading gained the lead in the bottom of the frame when Tuffy Gosewisch hit an RBI single, followed by Harold Garcia's three-run home run to left field. Akron tied the game 6-6 in the top of the fourth on an RBI single by Henry. Reading took the lead for good during their next at bat when Freddy Galvis scored on a wild pitch by lefty starter Matt Packer and Keoni De Renne's then singled in a run to make the score 8-6. Both teams added runs in the fifth to set up the final 9-7 score. Packer took the loss after allowing all nine runs on nine hits with three home runs, a walk, and a strikeout. Yohan Flande (9-7) earned the win with five innings pitched, giving up seven runs, six earned, on nine hits, one home run, one strike out and one walk.

. Bryson's decision. Newark, Delaware native Rob Bryson earned his first decision of the season in Tuesday night's continuation of the July 25th game. Bryson started on the mound when play resumed and pitched 2.2 innings with two hits, no runs allowed, three strike outs and two hits. It was his longest outing of the combined year with Lake County, Kinston, and the Aeros. He has a combined record of 7-1 with one save and a 2.79 ERA in 28 appearances.

. Head Games. Despite the continuation doubleheader, Head extended his streak to 15 games, the second-longest this season for Aeros, behind third baseman Jared Goedert. Head started the streak on July 10th against the Erie SeaWolves.

. Akron Racers. The Aeros remain in a tight wild card race in the Western Division with the Bowie Baysox and the Harrisburg Senators. With Tuesday night's slip, Akron is 2.0 games behind the Baysox. The Senators were defeated last night by Erie, moving them into a tie for third place in the division. Harrisburg visits Akron Friday for a three-game weekend series.
