Akron RubberDucks News Release

(Binghamton, NY)--For the second straight day, stormy weather interrupted play between the Akron Aeros and Binghamton Mets.

After having Sunday's game suspended in the fourth inning, the two teams attempted to double-up on Monday morning, but could only advance to the top of the sixth of game one with the score tied at 2-2. Akron's Adam Abraham was at the plate with one out and a 1-2 count when the game was halted.

Between Sunday and Monday, the game has been delayed a total of two hours and thirty-two minutes over four separate rain delays.

The fourth and final game of the series was to be played following the completion of the suspended game, but the opportunity never materialized.

Since the Aeros do not return to Binghamton this season, both games will be made up when the B-Mets visit Canal Park, June 19-21. The suspended game from Sunday/Monday will be completed first on the 19th. The schedule for the series is still being finalized.

The first-place Aeros will now return to Canal Park on Tuesday night to begin a six-game homestand. The New Britain Rock Cats (Twins) will visit for three games, followed by a three-game series with the Altoona Curve (Pirates). Tuesday's game will begin at 7:05 PM, and will feature a pitching match-up of RHP B.J. Hermsen (3-1, 2.68) for New Britain and LHP Giovanni Soto (4-2, 4.07) for Akron.
