Milwaukee, WI - The Milwaukee Admirals got a powerplay goal with just 20 seconds left in regulation to beat the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights 4-3 on Thursday night at the Bradley Center. It was the Knights' sixth straight loss.

The Knights opened the scoring on the powerplay. Mark Giordano and Carsen Germyn played a little give and go and Germyn finished it off with a wrist shot through traffic that beat goalie Pekka Rinne. The goal was Germyn's team-leading 19th goal of the year.

The Admirals responded with their own powerplay a little more than three minutes later. Timofei Shishkanov beat Brent Krahn with a slap shot to the top corner to make it 1-1 after one.

The Knights retook the lead on a five-on-three powerplay in the second period. Dave Moss whipped a pass across to the crease to Eric Nystrom who beat a sprawling Rinne for his eight goal of the year and his third in two games.

But less than three minutes later, the Admirals would answer. Greg Zanon got free at the right point and ripped a shot past Krahn to tie the game at two.

The Admirals took their first lead of the game just 1:48 into the third period when Beech beat Krahn with traffic in front.

The Knights tied the game once more midway through the period when Derek Couture banked a shot from behind the net off the leg of Rinne to make it 3-3. Couture now has five points in his last nine games.

But the Knights were flagged for too many men on the ice late in the game, and Corey Hessler beat Krahn with a point shot with just 20 second left in the game for the winner.

The Knights are now 16-20-1-7. They return home to host the Manchester Monarchs on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Fans are invited to bring their skates for a post-game skate with the team. Children must wear helmets during the event. The game also can be heard on 1420 KOTK and on the internet at omahaaksarbenknights.com.
