Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI-- Milwaukee, WI--Filip Forsberg scored a pair of goals while Scott Darling earned his second shutout of the season with 34 saves as the Admirals stopped the San Antonio Rampage 4-0 Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
A game after going 0-for-9 on the power-play the Ads scored three times with the man-advantage to extend their home winning streak to four games.
Taylor Beck got the Admirals on the board at 15:22 of the first period when he came into the San Antonio zone 2-on-1 with Simon Moser and looked off Rampage goalie Michael Houser before firing a wrister high glove side for his sixth of the year.
The Ads picked up a pair of goals in the second period to take a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes of play. Vinny Saponari scored his first career power-play goal when swooped in from the left side and slid the puck by Houser with just 2:30 to play in the second.
With Milwaukee on another power play, Forsberg ripped a wicked wrister by Houser just 61 second later. It was Forsberg's second goal for the Ads this season in his first game with team since being reassigned on Wednesday.
Forsberg finished the scoring for the Admirals with his second of the night at the 9:34 mark of the third period. Austin Watson and Miika Salomaki assisted on the tally.
The Admirals return to the Saturday night when they travel to Rockford to take on the IceHogs. The Ads return to home ice on Thursday December 26th when they host Grand Rapids at 7:00 pm.
