Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League announced on Saturday afternoon that they have released goaltender Allen York from his professional tryout contract with the club.

York, 24, started between the pipes in one game for the IceHogs. The Wetaskiwin, Alberta native was handed a 3-1 loss against the Iowa Wild on Dec. 15 despite stopping 35 shots.

Overall in 2013-14, York has appeared in eight AHL games with the Texas Stars, Charlotte Checkers and IceHogs. The netminder shows a record of 3-2-2 record in those eight contests, with a 2.51 goals against average and .919 save percentage.

The former sixth round draft pick (#158 overall) of the Columbus Blue Jackets has also played in three games with the Evansville Icemen of the ECHL in 2013-14, carrying a 2-1-0 record.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Dec. 21 vs. Milwaukee Admirals. Puck drop is 7 p.m. when the IceHogs take on their division rivals, the Milwaukee Admirals.
