Monsters Top Rochester 3-2 in OT

The Monsters have collected points in four consecutive games.

Olver circled the offensive zone and scored on a wrist shot from the slot at 3:00 of the opening period, his sixth goal of the season. Michael Schumacher and J.T. Wyman assisted on the goal, which gave the Monsters a 1-0 lead.

Just 1:41 later, Karl Stollery netted a slapshot following a clean faceoff win by Cam Reid, giving the Monsters a 2-0 lead.

In the second period, Rochester would tie the game at 2-2 following goals from Luke Adam and Nick Tuzzolino.

A scoreless third period would send the Monsters to overtime for the fourth straight game.

At 1:12 of the extra frame, Elliott netted a wrist shot top-shelf for the game-winner, his sixth goal of the season. Gabe Beaupre assisted on the goal that secured a second point for the Monsters.

Aittokallio stopped 25 of 27 shots in net for the Monsters, improving his individual record to 7-4-1. Matt Hackett suffers the overtime loss; he is 8-9-2 after stopping 17 of 20 shots.

The Monsters are back on the ice Friday at 7:30 PM against the Chicago Wolves at Quicken Loans Arena.
