Admirals Announce Three Roster Moves

NORFOLK - The Norfolk Admirals have signed forward Eric Lampe to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO), recalled defenseman Nick Schaus from their ECHL affiliate, the Fort Wayne Komets, and have released goaltender Jeff Deslauriers from his Professional Tryout Contract. The announcements were made today by Admirals Assistant General Manager Bob Ferguson.

Lampe, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, is third-year pro who had been playing with the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers. In 34 games with Las Vegas, Lampe has 14 goals and 30 points with 30 penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating. He l eads the Wranglers in goals, points, power play goals (4) and shorthanded goals (2) while tying for team lead in assists (16).

A third-year pro, Lampe has appeared in 40 career AHL games between the Syracuse Crunch, Hamilton Bulldogs and Lake Erie Monsters, scoring four goals and seven points. The 26-year-old native of Madison, Wisconsin, has also appeared in 125 career ECHL games between the Wranglers, Elmira Jackals and Florida Everblades, scoring 68 goals and 132 points. He participated in the 2011 ECHL All-Star Game, winning fastest skater in the skills competition.

An undrafted forward, Lampe played four seasons of collegiate hockey at Quinnipiac University, netting 47 goals and 102 points in 150 games.

Schaus, 5-foot-10, 200-pounds, has appeared in eight games with Norfolk this season with nine penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating. He also has appeared in 14 games with the Komets, posting one goal and seven points with 16 penalty minutes.

A 26-year-old native of Orchard Park, New York, Schaus has appeared in 134 career AHL games between the Admirals, Worcester Sharks and Syracuse Crunch, netting eight goals and 30 points. In 24 career ECHL games between the Komets and Elmira Jackals, Schaus has two goals and 12 points.

Prior to turning professional, Schaus appeared in 148 games over four seasons at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He registered 29 goals and 83 points with 220 penalty minutes. The San Jose Sharks originally signed Schaus as an undrafted free agent on March 22, 2010. He signed an AHL Standard Player's Contract with the Admirals on September 21, 2012.

Deslauriers was signed to a Professional Tryout Contract on January 1st. The veteran goaltender of 62 career NHL games between the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks did not dress in a game for the Admirals. He signed a two-year contract with Anaheim on July 9, 2011.

The Admirals and Syracuse Crunch face off tonight at 7:30 p.m. from the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter.
