Buffalo Bisons News Release
The Buffalo Bisons today placed RHP Adam Miller on the disabled list, retroactive to Monday, May 28, with a right hand injury. LHP Richard Rundles has joined the Herd from Double-A Akron.
Miller has not pitched since May 12 after making seven starts for the Bisons. He is 4-1 with a 2.45ERA (44.0IP, 37H, 14R, 12ER, 14BB, 39K) with Buffalo this season.
Rundles, 25, will be making his Triple-A debut with the Bisons. He was 1-0 with a 0.87ERA and two saves in eight games with Double-A Akron this year (10.1IP, 4H, R, ER, 3BB, 11K). In his last seven outings, he has allowed just one hit in 9.1 scoreless innings.
Originally a third round draft pick of the Boston Red Sox in June 1999, Rundles split last season in the development systems of the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Mets. After going 5-6 with a 4.60ERA in 15 games for Double-A Springfield, he was traded to the Mets on June 23, 2006. He finished the year with 12 games for Double-A Binghamton (1-3, 4.57ERA) and three games at Single-A St. Lucie (1-2, 1.83ERA).
Rundles was signed by Cleveland as a minor league free agent on January 22, 2007.
