FORT MILL, S.C. - May 30, 2007 - The very first pitch of the night was a sign of things to come-lots of runs for Louisville. The Bats hit three home runs in the top of the first-including the first pitch of the game-en route to a 13-6 victory over the Knights.
For the second straight night, Josh Hamilton hit a home run in his first at bat in the top of the 1st. He added another HR in the 3rd. Louisville scored all of their runs in the first four innings of the game to build a 13-4 lead. In two rehab starts for Louisville, Hamilton is 3-8 with 3 HR and 3 RBI. Jeff Keppinger, Mark Bellhorn and Chris Dickerson hit home runs for the Bats as well.
Knights 1B Ernie Young was 3-5 with 4 RBI on the night. Jerry Owens added to his streak of consecutive games of reaching base with 30. For the game, Owens was 2-4 with 2 runs scored.
Michael Glosing (4-2, 3.32) picked up the win for the Bats. Heath Phillips (4-4, 6.21) took the loss for the Knights.
The Knights and Bats will conclude their series on Thursday. RHP Gavin Floyd (2-3, 4.09) will start for the Knights. LHP Phil Dumatrait (5-3, 3.08) will take the mound for the Bats.
