Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers fell 5-0 to the Alaska Aces tonight, and will leave Alaska with two wins in the three-game series and an overall record of 35-19-1-4.
After losing to the Wranglers in two shootouts in a row, the Aces switched up their lines for the last game in the three-game road series. It only took four minutes into the game for Aces forward Dan Kissel to put Alaska on the board for a 1-0 lead, and three minutes later, Aces right wing Garry Nunn made it a 2-0 game through the first with just five shots on goal for the team.
Midway through the second, Nunn notched his second goal of the night on a power play, giving Alaska a 3-0 advantage. Less than two minutes later, Aces right wing Wes Goldie tallied a second power play goal for the team, and Kissel's second goal of the night late in the third secured the 5-0 win for Alaska. The Wranglers outshot the Aces 39-25, but were unable to capitalize.
The Wranglers continue their nine-game road series against the Idaho Steelheads next weekend. When the team returns home on Sunday, March 18, Wranglers players will shave their heads on the ice to raise funds and awareness for St. Baldricks Foundation.
