IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals close out their five-game week when they take on the Trenton Titans again at the Sun National Bank Center, with the opening face-off set for 4:00 p.m. On Saturday night, Elmira took a 3-2 lead in the third period but Trenton stormed back, scoring twice late to secure a 4-3 victory over the Jackals. Dustin Gazley scored twice in the loss to extend his point streak to 13 games (7g-11a). Today's game is the 13th between the two clubs this season, with Elmira posting a 7-5-0-0 record versus Trenton in 2011-2012.
BUSIEST STRETCH OF SEASON ENDS
Today's game marks the end of the Jackals' busiest stretch of the season, as Elmira plays the final contest of a stretch of 12 games in 17 days this afternoon. The Jackals are 6-4-1-0 in this stretch, which began with an overtime loss on Feb. 10 to Reading. Elmira has not had more than one day in between games during this current run.
ANOTHER SUN CENTER COMEBACK
All five games between the Jackals and the Titans at the Sun Center this season have resulted in a team coming from behind in the third period to earn two points. Elmira secured comeback wins on Dec. 4 and 31, battling back from 1-0 down in the third each time to garner 2-1 shootout victories. Trenton has rallied in the third for victories over Elmira on Nov. 4, Feb. 12, and Feb. 25.
