Chicago Express News Release
Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced today that defenseman Drew Paris has been reassigned from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey league to the Express.
Paris, 23, skated in the first six Express games of the season, scoring four points on two goals and two assists. Both of his goals came on the power play on October 15, when Chicago visited the Walleye for their first game in club history. The first of those goals stood as the game winner in a 5-1 victory for Chicago. In his last game with the Express, on December 16, Paris recorded one assist in a 5-3 win over the Elmira Jackals.
The 6-4, 205 pound defenseman has played in 21 games with Toronto this season, scoring one goal and adding two assists to go along with a plus-10 plus/minus rating. In his AHL career, Paris has played in 29 games with Rochester and Toronto, picking up six points on two goals and four assists.
The Express are back in action this afternoon for their second straight game against the Florida Everblades. All fans in attendance are invited to for a free skate with the team on the Sears Centre ice after the game. Limited skate rental is available, so fans are encouraged to bring their own skates to the game. To get tickets, call the Express at 224-220-1333.
