Aces Sign Vandane, Release Grieve

ANCHORAGE, AK - The Alaska Aces are pleased to announce the signing of defenseman Davis Vandane to a contract for the 2015-16 season.

President of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Rob Murray made the announcement Sunday.

The 23 year old native of Yorkton, SK, Canada played in one game with Greenville, without a scoring point. The 6-4, 215 pound Vandane has scored 15 goals with 64 assists for 70 points in major junior at Saskatoon, Spokane and Prince Albert. He also played at the University of Calgary, scoring 5 goals with 13 assists for 18 points in 33 games.

To make room for Vandane, Alex Grieve has been released. Grieve played in 3 games for Alaska this season, did not score, and was a minus 1.

The Aces are in Cincinnati in preparation for a Tuesday morning game against the Cyclones. Game time is 6:35 am Alaska time at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati.
