Last Game
The Cincinnati Cyclones' Joe Pendenza scored two goals and added an assist and Brad Thiessen made 23 saves while Matt Neal scored the only Mallard goal as the host Cyclones defeated the Mallards 3-1 Friday.
Fire Power
The Mallards scored just once Friday after setting a team season high for goals in Wednesday night's 7-4 win over Alaska.

The Mallards are unbeaten in regulation (4-0-1) in their last five home games.

Blue Line
Monfredo is now tied for the lead among ECHL defensemen in assists (9) and is tied for seventh overall in assists. Monfredo is also tied for third among defensemen in points (10) with Gelinas, who is tied for fifth among defensemen in assists (7). Monfredo has five points (one goal and four assists) in his last four games while Gelinas has registered seven points (one goal and six assists) in his last eight games.
Special Teams
While the Mallards were unsuccessful on each of their two power plays Friday night, they are an impressive 7-for-23 on the man advantage in their last seven games. The Mallards rank fourth in the ECHL on the power play (24.5 percent). The Mallards matched a season high by allowing two power play goals (on four Cincinnati advantages) Friday night. They are nineteenth in the league in penalty killing (81.6 percent).
Head to Head
The Mallards last season won their lone meeting with the Komets 7-5 on December 29, 2014, in Fort Wayne. All-time, the Mallards have gone 45-47-11 against Fort Wayne. The ECHL is the fourth different league in which the two teams have clashed. They previously competed against each other in the United, International and Central Leagues. Today's game is the first between the two teams at the iWireless Center since the Komets claimed a 7-2 CHL win on March 2, 2012. The Mallards are winless (0-5-1) in their last six home games against Fort Wayne. They last defeated the Komets on home ice when they rolled to a 5-1 victory on December 17, 2010 in the Quad Cities.
