Alaska Aces News Release

The Alaska Aces are proud to announce their participation in the Movember movement to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer research. Throughout the month of November, various Aces players have grown moustaches as part of their display. Movember is a worldwide campaign that takes place throughout the month of November, and challenges men to grow moustaches as part of the fundraising effort. For more information, please visit http://us.movember.com or www.alaskaaces.com.

The Mo, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember. Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men's health by growing a moustache. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men's health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days. Prostate cancer is the leading type of cancer affecting men. The funds raised through Movember's US campaign benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) and LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation. In 2009, global participation of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas climbed to 255,755, with over one million donors raising $42 Million US equivalent dollars for Movember's global beneficiary partners.

The Aces have created a Movember team to raise money, named "Blades of Stach." To help donate to their cause, please visit the Movember Website, and click on the donate tab, and then enter Blades of Stache as the team. From there you can make a donation of any amount to benefit the fight against cancer. The fundraising effort will continue through the end of November. Please note that fans must be in the United States portion of the website to donate to the Blades of Stache team. The Aces would like to thank all of their fans and supporters for their generous donations, and their help in the continued battle against cancer.

The Aces will continue their eight-game road trip with a Saturday night rematch with the Utah Grizzlies. The game can be heard back in Alaska on NewsTalk 750AM KFQD, beginning at 4:50pm. The Aces will return home to host the Victoria Salmon Kings on Wednesday, December 8th. For more information, please call the Aces at 907.258.ACES or visit them online at www.alaskaaces.com.
