Aces Crush Wranglers

Las Vegas, Nev.-The Las Vegas Wranglers (35-24-3) lost to the Alaska Aces (41-21-3) 5-1 in front of 5,979 at the Orleans Arena. Wrangler Tyler Mosienko got the lone goal in the loss. Alaska's Brian Swanson had a goal and 2-assists while Wes Goldie had to helpers in the win. Billy Sauer took the loss for Las Vegas stopping 14 of 19 shots. He falls to 0-2-1 in a Wrangler jersey. Gerald Coleman made 26 stops on 27 Wrangler shots to improve to 26-14-1.

Alaska got on the board first with an unassisted, shorthanded goal from Brian Swanson at 3:05 of the first period. It was Swanson's 23rd goal of the year. The Wranglers answered with a rebound goal on the power play from Tyler Mosienko. Craig Switzer and Ryan Huddy assisted on Mosienko's 11th goal of the season. The Aces came back with goals 34-seconds apart. Dan Kissel scored his 18th goal of the year at 11:05. Wes Goldie earned the only assist. Then at 11:39 of the first, Scott Howes finished a wrap around goal, his 22nd of the campaign. Goldie and Swanson got the assists on the Aces third goal which gave them a 3-1 lead heading into the 2nd period.

In the second period, the Aces continued to control play with a goal at 2:12 of the period. Mark Isherwood ripped a shot right off the face-off that beat Billy Sauer. Brian Swanson got the assist on the defenseman's 12th goal of the year. It was 4-1 Alaska after two periods of play.

The Aces would finish off the game with another shorthanded goal. Ethan Cox scored his 11th goal of the season unassisted at 10:33 of the final period to give Alaska the 5-1 win.

These same two teams will battle again at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday evening at 7:05.
