IN JUST A FEW HOURS...

The Elmira Jackals will attempt to improve to 3-0 on the week when they take on the Reading Royals at the Sovereign Center at 7:05 p.m. Last night, the Jackals scored four times in the third period to earn an 8-5 win over the Royals. Elmira is on a season-long seven-game point streak (5-0-0-2) and is now alone in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

DIVISION GETS CLOSER

The Jackals are now 10 points back of the Royals for first place in the Atlantic Division. On Feb. 25, the day of Robbie Nichols' first game as Jackals head coach, Elmira was 24 points behind Reading for the top spot in the division.

ANDERSON STEPS INTO FIRST

R.J. Anderson now leads the ECHL's defensemen with 39 points after collecting two assists in last night's victory. Last season, Anderson was second among ECHL rookie blue-liners with 43 points (12g-31a) behind current Jackal Drew Paris, who had 45 points.
