BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Alaska Aces brought an end to the Bakersfield Condors seven-game unbeaten streak with a 5-2 victory before 4,373 fans at Rabobank Arena on Tuesday night.

The opening period was filled with power plays, and it was on one of their five first period advantages that the Aces (32-20-3, 67pts) took the lead. D Matt Shasby fired home a one-timer for his 7th of the season at 16:08 to make it 1-0. Alaska held a slight lead in shots in the period as well, at 9-7. G Dave McKee started his third straight game between the pipes for the Condors.

The Condors (22-28-7, 51pts) tied it up in the second. D Chris Kaufman jumped on a loose puck in the offensive zone and snapped home his 2nd of the season at 8:40 to make it 1-1. But the Aces regained the lead on another power play later in the period. LW Scott Burt notched his 12th of the campaign to give the visitors a one-goal lead after 40 minutes of play.

Bakersfield again tied it up, however, in the early minutes of the third. C Bruce Graham snapped home a wrist shot from the right circle at 1:52 to make it 2-2. But the Aces bounced back out in front with a pair of goals in quick succession. F Erik Fabian and D Ryan Turek scored goals 29 seconds apart with just under eight minutes remaining in the game to take the lead for good. An empty net tally in the final minute accounted for the final margin. The Condors wrapped up the season series against the Aces 4-4-0.
