"Care-A-Van" Keeps Truckin'

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield Condors "Care-A-Van" puts the pedal to the metal as it cruises out to Tehachapi with Paul Willett on Wednesday, August 21st. This is the fifth site for the "Care-A-Van", following stops in Ridgecrest, Frazier Park, Taft and Delano.

The day in Tehachapi starts with lunch with the Kiwanis Club from Noon-1:00pm at the Cattlemen's Cafe (860 E. Tehachapi Blvd.) After that, two hockey sessions are planned with the Tehachapi Mountain Inline Hockey Association on the grounds of Jacobson Jr. High School at 126 Snyder Avenue. The first session is for the junior high kids, from 3:30-4:30pm. From 4:30-5:30pm, kids 12 and under will have their session.

At each "Care-A-Van" stop, donations will be collected for Goodwill Industries. In exchange for each donation, the Condors will present fans with a voucher good for free admission to Opening Night against the reigning Taylor Cup Champion Fresno Falcons on October 12th.

The next stop on the "Care-A-Van" tour is Lake Isabella on Thursday, August 29th. The exact schedule will be announced next week. Individuals in areas surrounding Bakersfield that would like the Condors "Care-A-Van" to visit their town, should call 324-PUCK (7825) to schedule an event.

The 2002-03 season opener is 65 days away with the Bakersfield Condors hosting the Fresno Falcons at Centennial Garden on Saturday, October 12th. Season tickets are now available, with packages starting as low as $42. Condor Droppings. . . The Condors Closet, the team's official merchandise store, is holding a summer clearance on all white home jerseys and Metal Blade pre-game jerseys. Buy one for regular price and add a second for just $1... The Condors 2002-03 roster currently stands at 15 players. Centers Shawn Byram, Jason Jackman and Paul Willett, wingers Jamie Cooke, Jeff Goldie, Anders Johnson, Jason Ralph, Jordan Roach and Paul Rosebush, defensemen Andre Allard, Jonas Lennartsson, Peter McRae, Christoffer Norgren, and Garret Stroshein, and goaltender Kevin St. Pierre... The Condors web site auction for the month of August is the Training Camp Package. The winner will attend a day of the 2002-2003 Condors Training Camp, and will receive an autographed jersey, and 4 tickets to the Pre-Season Game on October 5th.
