Greensboro Generals News Release
Greensboro, NC â The Greensboro Generals are changing gears from the ice oval to the asphalt oval before training camp kicks off next month. The Generals have teamed up with Woody Racing and driver Mike Bledsole at Ace Speedway, located less than 30 minutes from Greensboro in Altamahaw, NC. The next NASCAR Weekly Racing Series race is this Friday night at 8:00, with the Generals "G-Star" Logo adorned atop the hood of Bledsole's #83 car.
Bledsole currently leads the YMC Mortgage Super Stock Car Division with just two races to go. He has won five of the series' 16 races this season riding his 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. While the Generals have just started their relationship with Bledsole, Generals' Co-Owner and President Rocco Scarfone (SKAR-foan) hopes to continue the partnership long beyond this season.
"Pairing up with Mike Bledsole and the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series is a perfect fit for both of us," says Scarfone. "Racing and hockey are sports defined by speed. If you're a racing fan, but you've never seen a hockey game, I guarantee you'll fall in love with the sport, and the opposite is true as well. With Mike in the lead in his division with two races to go, hopefully that's a positive omen for the Generals this season."
Bledsole's final two races this season with the Generals car are this Friday at 8:00 and Friday, September 13 at 8:00. Ace Speedway tickets are $13.00 for adults, $9.00 for seniors and children 13-16, and $4.00 for children 6-12.
