A Saints Homestand Worthy of a Gold Medal Performance

ST. PAUL, MN (July 25, 2012) - Cue up the Olympic Spirit and get ready for an award winning St. Paul Saints seven game homestand. It may only seem like Groundhog Day, but we won't scam you with our promotions. This isn't the time to feel Minnsecure because we have giveaways that would make the Real Housewives green with envy. It's a homestand worthy of bringing home a giant, golden statue.

It all begins with the first ever visit by Quebec les Capitales with a three game series that starts on Friday, July 27 at 7:05 p.m. as we go Around the World in 11 Miles presented by U7 Neighborhood & Development Center. The diverse businesses along the Central Corridor route are the lifeblood of that area. The assorted businesses along the 11 mile stretch have always been tremendous neighbors to the Saints and it's our turn to once again show them friendly hospitality. The small, independent businesses are hidden gems in St. Paul. In addition it's our Gold Medal Game as our neighbors from the North visit the U.S. Just because the Olympics got rid of baseball this year doesn't mean we can't award medals in the sport. Similar to the Olympics there will be a pre-game parade of nations celebrating the different nationalities and countries for those of us who live, work and play along the central corridor. All fans are encouraged to partake in the parade and should be lined up at 6:20 p.m. in the right field corner for the 6:30 p.m. parade. Fans are free to bring flags, banners or wear jersey's to represent their nationality. Prior to the game there will be a torch lighting ceremony. Also, fans in the front rows of sections will be our judges for the night. No Olympic event would be complete without fireworks, so join us for Xcel Energy Friday Night Fireworks following the game.

On Saturday, July 28 at 7:05 p.m. it's the Real Housewives of Blue Earth County presented by 5 Eyewitness News. This 764 square mile city just 75 miles southwest of the Twin Cities may seem like a serene place, but this farming town doesn't lack drama. Find out what happens when the wives of Mankato farmers get together with the wives of North Mankato farmers. It's a grudge match that makes the Real Housewives of New Jersey look like a day at the library. Be prepared for a ton of surprises on Goodrich Family Night and come ready to help with our can food drive benefitting 360 Communities Food Shelf. With everything going on you will need to study up for Success Saturday's presented by University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

You may have seen this before, but the series against les Capitales ends on Sunday, July 29 at 1:05 p.m. with our Groundhog Day promotion. Nothing is ever the same at a Saints game except for the tire race, Sister Ros, the pigs, the person sitting atop the billboard, Seigo.... This is a day Phil Connors will surely enjoy. The only question is will Mudonna see her shadow which means an extra two weeks of baseball. Following the game kids run the bases and get autographs from the entire Saints team.

A four game series with the rival Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks begins on Monday, July 30 with a 7:05 p.m. game with Good Eggs and Scams presented by the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota. Whether it's a Ponzi scheme, one of those emails saying you've received a ton of money, but all you need to do is send information or those late night, get rich infomercial's we will make you aware of every one of these con games. The first 2,000 fans will receive "Good Eggs" at the gate with prizes inside and tips from the BBB on avoiding scams. One grand prize winner will walk away with a 42" flat screen TV courtesy of Best Buy. Wash away all your sorrows if you've ever been scammed with our BUZN Buck Beer Night and drink your favorite suds for just $1.

On Tuesday, July 31 at 7:05 p.m. put on your green attire, get ready to wolf down some corn beef and cabbage and bring your shamrocks because it's St. Paddy's Day in July presented by Ryan Companies. We'll make sure our leprechauns greet you at the gate with a little Irish pride and that the suds are flowing with some tasty green beer. Plus, you could walk away with a game-worn, team autographed Saints Irish Jersey. Our St. Patrick's Day may be lucky for someone with a chance to win between $77-$77,777 on St. Croix Casino Big Money Tuesday.

Minnesotans, we will help you get over your insecurity issues with our Wednesday, August 1, 7:05 p.m. game. Repeat after us, "We're good enough, we're smart enough and doggone it people like us." We don't want you to be Minnsecure, so the first 1,500 fans will receive a Linus Security Blanket. Our state is looked at as fly over country and that we're reserved and mild-mannered. Sure we don't like confrontation, but it's because we're Minnesota Nice. We're not like the East or West Coast on the roads because Minnesotan's allow other drivers to enter the lane in front of them. Since you do something nice for others, the Saints are doing something nice for you by having the craziest tailgate party of the year with Walser Wednesday with free hot dogs before the game.

The final game of the homestand takes place on Thursday, August 2 at 7:05 p.m. with awards season starting early. Find a date, walk the red carpet and put on your finest threads because it's the Saints Awards. Find out which crazy idea wins for "Best Original Promotion" or who takes home the top prize for "Best Intern in a Supporting Role." There have been a number of amazing song choices through the years, but which will win for "Best Score." Also, some of our best performers and personalities, on the field and in the front office, from the past 20 seasons will return for the August 2 game during our Xfinitiy 20th Season Celebration.

July fades away and by the end of the homestand there is just one month left in the season. There is so much to celebrate during this seven game stretch that it will seem like a party every night. We'll give away medals and trophies, but there is no reason to feel Minnsecure if you don't walk away with one. There may be some drama, but a St. Patrick's Day celebration will help calm the nerves. You may feel like some of these promotions have been done before, but with the Saints there is always a twist.

Tickets for Saints home games are $5 for general admission, $8 for outfield reserved and $12 for infield reserved. Tickets purchased on the Day of the Game are an additional $1 per ticket. Children under the age of 14 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price. Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free.
