A RockHounds Father's Day Gift Set

Midland RockHounds News Release
The RockHounds offered a very nice "gift package" Sunday, including outstanding pitching ... clutch hitting ... and exceptional defense. The result was a 12-inning, 5-4 win over the Frisco RoughRiders on Father's Day Sunday at Security Bank Ballpark.
Tyler Marincov's walk-off double in the 12th inning gave the RockHounds the come-from-behind victory in the opener of a four-game series with the Riders. Viosergy Rosa, whose one-out single would become the game-winning run.
The 'Hounds took an early 2-0 lead against A.J. Griffin. The Texas Rangers right-hander (and former RockHound) was victimized his defense, allowing an unearned run on two errors in the first inning, and a second run on Brett Vertigan's RBI squeeze bunt in the second. Making his third rehabilitation start with Frisco (shoulder soreness), Griffin settled in after two innings, pitching through the fifth and now allowing another run, giving up just three hits and two walks while striking out seven.
RockHounds starter Joel Seddon retired the first 10 batters he faced before giving up four runs in the fourth, the last three on Joe Jackson's three-run home run to the short porch in right field. The 'Hounds tied the game in the sixth on RBI singles from Josh Rodriguez and Danny Oh.
The defensive effort was highlighted by three brilliant catches - - one on a diving grab by Marincov in right field (with one on and two out and the score tied in the eighth) and two from Vertigan in left. After robbing Alex Burg of extra bases with a full-speed catch (and both feet off the ground) in the second, Vertigan made a sensational diving catch, perhaps the best of the three (and each worthy of ESPN) off the bat of Preston Beck in the 11th.
With the exception of the fourth inning (see "Stat of the Day," below) Joel Seddon, Sam Bragg and Jake Sanchez were outstanding on the mound. Seddon went a (personal) season-high seven innings, while Bragg (see note, below) pitched three scoreless innings and Sanchez (aided by Vertigan's Web Gem) pitched two perfect innings (three strikeouts) for the win. The trio allowed just six hits and two walks over 12 innings.
