CORPUS CHRISTI--The Hooks slugged three homeruns as part of an 11-hit attack and beat the Missions for the 20th time in the last 24 meetings Monday night at Whataburger Field.

Missions starter TJ Weir, coming off two solid outings in his Double-A debut, was roughed up for five runs in four innings. Weir labored with his command, tying a career high with four walks while making 94 pitches.

San Antonio was limited to four hits. The Missions started the night with a league-leading .270 batting average in June.

River Stevens spoiled the shutout bid with an rbi-single in the sixth inning.

The Hooks Roberto Pena turned his first career multi-homer game by hitting a pair of solo shots off reliever Seth Simmons.

The loss dropped the Missions to a season-high 24 games under .500. They conclude the series Tuesday before continuing the road trip in Midland.

NOTES: Nelson Ward doubled to extend his hitting streak to six games...The eight runs were the most allowed by the club since May 23. San Antonio owned the league's fourth lowest ERA since then heading into Monday's game.
