CORPUS CHRISTI--Alex Bregman hit a two-out walkoff solo homer to give the Hooks a come-from-behind win in the series opener at Whataburger Field.

San Antonio had a 4-1 lead heading to the eighth inning but allowed two runs in to make it a one-run affair. Corpus tied the game in the ninth off closer Jason Jester, who suffered his first blown save in eight chances. That set the stage for Bregman's dramatics.

Aaron Northcraft rejoined the Missions from El Paso and worked six solid innings, allowing just a single run and a pair of hits.

The win was the Hooks seventh straight over San Antonio and their 19th in the last 22, dating to last season.

NOTES: Nick Torres extended his hitting streak to 13 with his league-leading 19th double of the season

NEXT: Missions RH Kyle Lloyd (2-2, 4.95) at Corpus LH Brian Holmes (4-2, 3.59) 6:05 PM
