WORCESTER, MA â The Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League today announced their Second Annual GUNS & HOSES hockey game, pitting The City of Worcester Police and Fire Departments hockey teams against one another prior to the IceCats home game against the Providence Bruins on Saturday, January 24th. The 24th is Police and Firefighter Appreciation Night with the IceCats.
A battle of civic pride, the GUNS & HOSES hockey game will take place at 5 PM with the face-off between the IceCats and Bruins occurring at 7:05 PM. Last season's match-up saw the GUNS defeat the HOSES, 4-2. Any fan that has purchased a ticket to the IceCats game, will receive early admission to the GUNS & HOSES hockey game. The first 2,000 fans through the turnstiles will also receive a St. Louis Blues cap.
Following the GUNS & HOSES game, the Worcester Fire Fighters Safety & Survival Seminar will make a check presentation for $25,000 toward the creation of Worcester Fire Fighters Memorial Park. Over the last five years, the Worcester Fire Fighters Safety & Survival Seminar has donated more than $100,000 towards the Memorial and toward the purchase of new equipment for the Worcester Fire Department.
