
P-Bruins begin three-game weekend on Friday

The Providence Bruins, riding a season-high six-game unbeaten streak (4-0-2-0), begin a three-game weekend on Friday, January 23 at 7:05 p.m., when they host the Manchester Monarchs. All fans in attendance will receive a free Providence Bruins mug, courtesy of Dunkin' Donuts. The game will also be televised live on COX 3, with Corey Masse and Bob Norton broadcasting all the action.
The Bruins defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday night in Hartford, 1-0. The win kept the Black and Gold in second place in the Atlantic Division (20-12-10-0), moving them within five points of the division-leading Wolf Pack. Goaltender Tim Thomas stopped all 30 shots he faced for his third shutout of the season. All three of his shutouts have come in 1-0 road wins. Forward Brendan Walsh scored the only goal of the game on a third period power play. Walsh, who ranks second on the team with 120 PIM, has scored four goals in his last five games.
The Bruins begin a home-and-home series with the Worcester IceCats in Worcester on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. The teams return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m.
