Manitoba Moose News Release
The Vancouver Canucks today announced they have assigned forward Wade Brookbank to the Manitoba Moose for conditioning purposes. Brookbank will be returning to the Canucks on Sunday, January 25, 2004.
Brookbank, 27, has played in four games with Vancouver this season, failing to record a point but collecting 50 minutes in penalties. He has also played in nine games with the Nashville Predators this season, recording no points and 38 penalty minutes as well. Brookbank has played in 10 games in the American Hockey League with the Binghamton Senators and Milwaukee Admirals where he collected 37 penalty minutes.
Last season, the Lanigan, SK native only played eight games with the Binghamton Senators due to a knee injury suffered in a game against Wilkes-Barre. He has played 91 career games in the AHL with Grand Rapids, Binghamton, and Milwaukee. In that time, he scored one goal and seven points to go along with 402 penalty minutes.
Brookbank was acquired by Vancouver off waivers from the Florida Panthers on January 3, 2004. Brookbank was originally signed into the NHL as a free agent by the Ottawa Senators on July 27, 2001.
