
3 IceCats Sent to ECHL

WORCESTER, MA â St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau today announced that forwards Colin Hemingway and Greg Black have been reassigned to the Peoria (IL) Rivermen of the ECHL. In addition, the IceCats have released forward Jim Henkel from his Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
Drafted by the St. Louis Blues with their seventh choice, 221st overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Hemingway has skated in 13 games for the IceCats during his first professional season. The former University of New Hampshire standout registered his first professional goal on December 3rd versus Albany and has recorded 11 penalty minutes with Worcester. While with Peoria, he played in five games, notching six assists and two penalty minutes.
Signed by the Blues as a free agent on March 20th, 2003, Black has appeared in 16 games with the IceCats, collecting one goal, one assist and 66 penalty minutes: 16(1/1/2)66. He has skated in three games with the Peoria Rivermen this season, obtaining one assist and 14 penalty minutes.
Earlier this afternoon, the IceCats released forward Jim Henkel from his Professional Tryout Contract (PTO). The Hazlet, New Jersey native appeared in three games for the IceCats, recording no points or penalty minutes. He is expected to rejoin the Atlantic City (NJ) Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL.
The IceCats return to Worcester's Centrum Centre for a 7:05 face off with the Lowell Lock Monsters tomorrow night.
