Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI - Rosters for the 10th annual XM All-Star Futures Game have been announced by Major League Baseball, and Corpus Christi starter Polin Trinidad has been selected as a member of the World roster. The World Team will play the 2008 Team USA Olympic trial team at 12:30 p.m. at Yankee Stadium in New York on Sunday, July 13.
Trinidad, who is 1-2 with a 2.93 ERA in five starts for the Hooks and is on tap for tomorrow's series finale with Tulsa, is the only player from the Houston farm system chosen for either roster. He is one of only two left-handed pitchers for the World Team, the other being Jaime Garcia of the Cardinals.
Trinidad opened this season with Salem in the Carolina League, where in 10 starts he was 4-2 with a 2.32 ERA, holding opponents to 46 hits in 62.0 innings.
The XM All-Star Futures Game will be televised live by ESPN2 and ESPN2 HD.
