Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release
The Naturals began a six-game road trip to San Antonio and Corpus Christi yesterday evening, but back in Springdale, Naturals staff members and fans alike are gearing up for what is shaping up to be the biggest homestand of the season.
Thursday, July 3rd, the Naturals return home to face the San Antonio Missions, with a 6:00 start for our Independence Eve Celebration, which will feature a post-game performance by the North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, followed by a spectacular fireworks show. To top things off, Little Debbie will be on hand handing out Little Debbie snacks after the game. The game time for Thursday is 6:00, and gates will open at 5:00.
"We're very excited for this post-game performance with the symphony and we believe it will become the premiere Independence Eve event in Northwest Arkansas," said Naturals' General Manager Eric Edelstein.
Friday night, July 4th, the Naturals will light up the sky after completion of their 7:00 game with the Missions with one of the largest fireworks shows Northwest Arkansas has ever seen. This is in addition to their Military Appreciation Event - which will provide all active and retired Military (with proper ID) a $2 ticket discount when they present their ID at the ticket window prior to the game. The Pea Ridge Military National Park will also be on hand prior to the game with a civil war replica cannon which will be on display. Like every Friday night, there will also be live music at the ballpark from 5:30-7 as the Music Arts Productions presents Jazzmopolitan. Miller High Life 16 oz. drafts will be available from 5:30 till 7 at the Cider Shack on the first-base concourse. Gates will open at 5:30.
"We've earned a reputation early this season for our great fireworks shows," said Edelstein. "I can promise that this will be the most impressive display yet."
Saturday, July 5th, the series with San Antonio wraps up with an appearance by the one and only Famous "San Diego" Chicken! Hailing from sunny San Diego, CA, the Famous Chicken has been entertaining baseball fans for 30 years and will keep Naturals fans in stiches during the entire game! Game time is 7:00 and gates open at 6.
Sunday, July 6th is a 4:00 start and ushers in a three-game series with Corpus Christi and features a special appearance by Nickelodeon's Dora the Expolorer, as well as the usual tradition of kids 14 and under running the bases after the game! Gates open at 3.
Monday, July 7th features Monday Night Lights presented by Ozarks Electric Cooperative Corporation, Sam98, Y94, and the Morning News, and offers fans the chance to bring in their Ozarks Electric bill for $1 off of a Premium, Reserved, or Subway Berm ticket at the box office. Monday night also means another night of the popular Morning News Baseball Bingo! Game time is 7 on Monday, and gates open at 6.
Tuesday, July 8th we wrap the homestand up with Arvest Customer Appreciation Night. All Arvest customers presenting a bill, credit card, or debit card at the box office window receive $2 off their Premium, Reserved, or Subway Berm ticket, and 93.3 The Eagle will broadcast live before the game. Tuesday night also features another appearance by the popular Dancing Christopher. Christopher is a hilarious variety act that hails from Las Vegas. Gates open at six and the fun begins at 7:00 P.M.
One week out, there are already fewer than 2,000 tickets remaining for the July 3rd and July 4th Naturals games, which both feature fireworks.
"If you haven't already been to the ballpark this summer, I can't think of a better time to come than during this homestand," added Edelstein.
