Travis Teeter Signed by the Milwaukee Brewers

Lincoln, NE - Lincoln Saltdogs starting pitcher Travis Teeter had his contract purchased by the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday, Saltdogs officials announced. Teeter is the first member of the 2004 Saltdogs to have his contract sold to a major league team this season. Former Saltdogs players Dustin Delucchi, Cory Harris and Jake Upwood have played in the affiliated minor leagues in 2004.
Teeter pitched in the Baltimore Orioles organization in 2002 and 2003, compiling a 9-6 record and 3.75 ERA. He split time between the bullpen (27 games) and rotation (11 games).
The right-hander began the 2004 season with the Saltdogs in the bullpen, and pitched well enough in relief (2.79 ERA) to earn a spot in the rotation. He was excellent in his final two starts with Lincoln, pitching eight innings in both, and earning wins over Sioux City and Schaumburg. Upon signing with the Brewers, Teeter was among the top ten in Northern League earned run average (3.16). He currently has a 13-8 professional career won- loss record, a 3.51 career ERA, and 166 strikeouts in 195 career professional innings.
Teeter played collegiate baseball at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, where he earned first team All-American honors for a club that appeared in the College World Series. He resides in Cohoes, New York.
The Saltdogs will be in action against the Sioux City Explorers Wednesday night. The Saltdogs have won the first two games of their eleven game homestand, which will see them also host the Kansas City T-Bones and North Division leading St. Paul Saints.
