Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies (25-16-3-1) defeated the Ontario Reign 3-0 Saturday night at Maverik Center before 8,150 fans.

Utah drew 16,680 fans to two games this weekend after tonight's Guns N' Hoses crowd. After the game, $12,500 was raised in a post-game specialty jersey auction with all proceeds going to the families of fallen police and firefighters.

Andrew Engelage stopped all 31 shots that he saw, including a Utah season-high 22 saves in the second period to earn his first professional shutout and improve his record to 15-7-2-1.

"It was a pretty good game and we got the job done," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "Andrew Engelage stood on his head for us and made the timely saves which we depend on him for."

Tom May gave Utah a 1-0 lead 4:52 into the second period on his seventh goal of the year as he extended his scoring streak to six. Matt Clarke and Dave Schulz picked up assists as they started the rush.

In a 1-0 third period, Hugo Carpentier scored from the far circle for the second-straight game to give Utah a 2-0 lead on a four-on-three power-play 8:15 into the final frame. Simon Ferguson added his 12th goal of the year into an empty-net with 16 seconds left in the game. Ferguson also led Utah with nine shots on goal.

Utah completes their weekend series with Ontario Monday at Maverik Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
