For the final time in the regular season, the Kalamazoo Wings will battle the Gwinnett Gladiators. This afternoon with be the rubber match between the teams, as the K-Wings evened-up the season series to ag game apiece with a 4-3 victory yesterday at Wings Stadium.

By winning last night, the K-Wings jumped over the Cincinnati Cyclones into second place in the North Division. The victory was also the K-Wings fourth straight at home, which established a new season-high, while tying a season-high overall winning streak with three wins.

Gwinnett's loss last night extended their winless streak to four games. The Gladiators have gone 0-2-1-1 during the stretch. With 45 points, Gwinnett enters Wings Stadium in fourth place in the South Division, five points behind the South Carolina Stingrays, who are currently in third.

Forward Sam Ftorek reached a personal milestone last night. Ftorek recorded two assists to reach the 300-plateau mark in his career.

Forwards Trent Daavettila and Andrew Fournier each enter this afternoon on seven-game point streaks. Daavettila has earned nine points (2 goals, 7 assists) during the streak, while Fournier has registered 11 points (9 goals, 2 assists) during the stretch.

Access De-Nied

Goaltender Ryan Nie has stopped 85 out of the 88 shots he has faced this weekend. Nie, who saved 41 shots in a shutout of Florida on Friday, made a K-Wings' season-high 44 saves last night in the victory over Gwinnett.

Power Up

Forward Patrick Asselin has established himself as one of the top power-play specialist in the league. Tied for the K-Wings' team-lead in power-play tallies, Asselin has scored nine of his 15 goals this season with a man-advantage.
