
Pickard Blanks Stingrays 5-0

Cincinnati, OH -Goaltender Chet Pickard registered his first shutout of the season (28 saves) as the Cincinnati Cyclones (19-17-5-2) blanked the South Carolina Stingrays (24-18-1-1) 5-0 at U.S. Bank Arena Sunday afternoon.
The Cyclones kicked off the scoring on the power play at 12:24 of the first period when forward Scott Reynolds tapped in a rebound over the left pad of Stingrays netminder Jared DeMichiel for his 11 tally of the season. Forward Barret Ehgoetz and defenseman T.J. Fast earned assists.
Cyclones forward Ryan D'Agostino made it a two-goal lead at 12:51 of the middle stanza from forwards Ryan Del Monte and Brady Calla.
Cincinnati added three more goals in the third period to complete the game scoring. Forward Mathieu Aubin lit the lamp 2:21 into the final frame from Ehgoetz and Fast. At 13:27, defenseman Adam Comrie capitalized on the first half of a Stingrays double minor penalty from defenseman Brian O'Hanley and Aubin. Moments later, Ehgoetz netted his 11 of the year on the second power play at 14:18 from Fast.
DeMichiel dropped his second straight contest blocking 22 of 27 Cyclones opportunities. The Stingrays ended the night 0-for-3 on the power play while the Cyclones went 3-for 7.
The Stingrays wrap up their three-game series against the Cyclones on Wednesday, February 2 at 7:30 p.m. at U.S. Bank Arena. Listen to the action on ESPN Radio 910 and www.stingrayshockey.com.
