67's Close out Winning Weekend with 7-4 Victory over Generals

OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's big guns were lights out on Sunday as the OHL leaders closed out a perfect weekend with a 7-4 win over the Oshawa Generals.
The 67's broke a tight game wide open with three unanswered goals in the second half of the second period, including a pair from rookie Jack Quinn and a buzzer-beater off the stick of Austen Keating.
Keating finished the game with two goals and two assists, one of four 67's with multi-point efforts, including Quinn, Tye Felhaber (a goal and three assists) and Marco Rossi (three assists). Noel Hoefenmayer, who opened the scoring on his birthday, and Graeme Clarke, also scored for Ottawa. Felhaber added his 44th goal of the year with less than five minutes to play.
Allan McShane, with two, Brett Neumann and Anthony Salinitiri scored for Oshawa.
Cedrik Andree followed up his shutout performance on Saturday with a 29-save win against the Generals.
The 67's return to action on Friday as they kick off a three-game road trip that includes stops in Sarnia, London and Guelph.

On scoring in front of his family.... ''It was my grandma's 85th birthday, so everybody from the farm came down, so it was nice to get a big win and a goal in front of them. I said grandma wouldn't be too happy if I didn't get a goal tonight. Assists are good, but she likes the goals, so it was nice to get one.''
Jack Quinn, 67's forward
On playing in important situations like the penalty kill .... ''It's great. I've never been much of a PK guy, but I'm really happy that I'm getting a chance to do it and I think I'm doing all right. It's a learning experience for sure, but I like the fact that I'm adding that to my game.'' On his highlight-reel goal ... ''It was on the penalty kill, our defenceman did a great job of winning his battle in the corner and it turned into a two on two. I believe one of their guys on defense was a forward, so he gave me the middle and I took it, and I was fortunate to put it high glove.''

''We had a solid game to me. I think we controlled the play, had a few bad bounces and they were opportunistic, but Ceddy played a solid game and I'm really happy. It feels weird to say that this game ended 7-4, but I still think we played really solid.''
Game Notes
The shots in this game ended 33 to 33. Cedrick Andree made 29 saves for his league-leading 25th win of the season.
With a goal in the opening minute, birthday boy Noel Hoefenmayer extended his point streak to five games.
Tye Felhaber is on a 14-game point streak in which he has put up 29 points.
The 67's power play was buzzing today, ending the game with 3 goals on 5 occasions.
