ERIE, PA - The Otters returned to home ice on Sunday afternoon, where they took on the Sarnia Sting for the second time of the 2018-19 campaign. After a few minutes of back and forth hockey, Danial Singer got things going for Erie with a wrist shot for his 12th goal of the season. Only minutes later, Hugo Leufvenius answered for Sarnia to tie the game up, and Ryan McGregor added another to elevate the Sting ahead 2-1 heading into the intermission

In the second, Kyle Maksimovich tied the game at two on a late period penalty shot after being hooked on a breakaway attempt.

In the final period, Franco Sproviero scored just after the halfway point to put the Sting back ahead. Moments later, Erie converted on their third powerplay of the night with a goal from rookie Jamie Drysdale to tie it up at three, sending the game to overtime.

In overtime, the teams traded rushes throughout the five minutes until Kyle Maksimovich scored with 0.6 seconds on the clock to win the game for Erie.

Kyle Maksimovich's second period penalty shot goal and overtime winner elevates him ahead of Taylor Raddysh for seventh all-time in franchise goal scoring with 103.

The Otters will play at home again on Friday evening, when they take on the Owen Sound Attack at 7PM.
