LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, will open an eight-game homestand over the Memorial Day weekend on Friday, May 28 against the Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, at 7:05 p.m. at Cashman Field. The four-game series against the Rainiers will run through Memorial Day (Monday, May 31). The 51s will then host the first-place Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, in a four-game series, from Tuesday-Friday, June 1-4, all games at 7:05 p.m. Fresno has the best record in the 16-team PCL with a 29-16 (.644) mark.
The 51s, under manager Dan Rohn, are currently tied for fourth place in the Pacific Southern Division, 19-27, 10.5 games behind Fresno. The eight-game road trip will conclude in Round Rock, Texas, against the Express, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, on Thursday.
Las Vegas is averaging 4,998 fans (119,950) through 24 home dates in the 2010 season. The season-high crowd was 10,459 vs. Omaha on May 18. The Las Vegas franchise has reached the 300,000 plateau in "home" attendance in all 27 seasons (1983-2009) and the all-time total now stands at 9,144,428.
A post-game "Fireworks Show" will highlight the opener of the four-game series on Friday. The 51s team will wear "camouflage" jerseys (on Friday) to help honor the military over the Memorial Day weekend.
Game two of the four-game series on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. will feature 51s Performance T-Shirt Night, to the first 2,500 fans through the gates. Blue Man Group will perform the "National Anthem" and will appear throughout the game to entertain fans with a number of various comedic antics and bits for which the iconic trio is known. Actor/Comedian Paul Rodriguez, performing his standup show "Paul Rodriguez and the Whole Enchilada" at the Tropicana Resort & Casino, will "throw out" the ceremonial first pitch.
The final two games of the series will feature back-to-back matinee contests at 12:05 p.m. on Sunday, May 30 and Memorial Day (May 31). Monday's game will also feature "Value Menu" as the 51s and Aramark have teamed together for discounted food items on Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Peanuts, Cracker Jacks and Pretzels for just $1.00 per item.
Tacoma's roster features one of the top 10 prospects in the Mariners organization, according to Baseball America: outfielder Greg Halman (No. 8).
Las Vegas will then open a four-game series against the Fresno Grizzlies on Tuesday, June 1. Gordie Brown Bobblehead Night, presented by the Golden Nugget Hotel, will be distributed to the first 2,000 fans through the gates. UNLV Night will also be featured and Runnin' Rebel head basketball coach Lon Kruger and football head coach Bobby Hauck will "throw out" the ceremonial first pitches. Kruger and Hauck will also sign autographs between 6 - 6:30 p.m. in the Bank of America Patio.

The finale of the eight-game homestand on Friday, June 4 will feature 51s T-Shirt Night, sponsored by Advanced Imaging Solutions (AIS), to the first 2,500 fans through the gates.
