FC Dallas has won four of its last five matches and is unbeaten at Toyota Stadium in 2019 with three wins and a draw. Dallas is coming off a 2-1 road win over defending MLS Cup champion Atlanta United.
Ferreira Streaking
Eighteen-year-old FC Dallas Homegrown Jesus Ferreira has scored in two straight matches and is tied for the team lead with defender Reto Ziegler with three goals scored in 2019. Ferreira had one career goal coming into the 2019 season (6/3/17 vs Real Salt Lake in his MLS debut).
The Homegrown Vibe
Dallas continues to lead MLS in Homegrown minutes played this year. Through eight matches, FC Dallas leads the league with 2,794 Academy product minutes played, which is already 35% of the total number of Academy product minutes played in all of 2018.
Against San Jose
Saturday's match will be FC Dallas' 64th meeting with San Jose. Dallas is 20-28-15 overall against the Quakes. FCD lost both matches against San Jose in 2018. The Quakes won in 3-1 in Toyota Stadium on August 4 and 4-3 at Avaya Stadium on August 29. Two of San Jose's four total wins in 2018 came against FC Dallas.
About the Quakes
San Jose has posted three results in the last four matches after opening the 2019 season with four straight losses. The Quakes played Seattle to a 2-2 draw on Wednesday at CenturyLink Field. Prior to the draw, San Jose posted two wins in three matches, beating Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, April 20 on the road and beating the Houston Dynamo in the Bayou City on April 13.
