2019 Conexus Warriors & Legends Hall of Fame Inductees

The Moose Jaw Warriors are excited to announce that defensemen Chris Armstrong and Harlan Anderson, along with Lorne Humphries are the 2019 inductees to the Conexus Warriors and Legends Hall of Fame.

From Regina, Chris Armstrong made his Warriors debut in the 1991 - 1992 season and went on to play 240 games for the Warriors until 1995.  In 1993 - 1994, Armstrong had 55 assists and 68 points and was named to the WHL First All-Star Team and the CHL Second All-Star Team.  His final season with the Warriors was 1994 - 1995, he posted single-season career highs in goals (17) and points (71).  Armstrong finished his career with the Warriors with 41 goals, 151 assists, 192 points, and 238 penalty minutes and ranks 3rd all-time among Warrior defencemen scoring.

Armstrong was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the 3rd round, 57th overall, at the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.  In 2000, he was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the 1st round, 13th overall, in the expansion draft.  He went on to play 488 games in the American Hockey League and had 63 goals, 231 assists, and 294 points in 488 games.  He played 162 games in the International Hockey League and had 71 assists and 88 points.  Armstrong also played 265 games in Germany where he had 27 goals and 131 points.

Armstrong has also had the honour of playing for Team Canada on several occasions including the 1994 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships where he captured a gold medal.  He also played for Canada at the 2002 - 2003 Spengler Cup and the 2008 - 2009 Deutschland Cup.

Today, Chris lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his family where he is a Community Sales Manager for Smith Douglas Homes.

From Vernon, BC, Harlan Anderson made his Warriors debut in the 1999 - 2000 season and went on to play 258 games for the Warriors until 2003.  Patrolling the blueline, Anderson had 32 goals, 107 assists, 139 points and picked up 246 penalty minutes.  Anderson played in 33 playoff games for the Warriors from 2000 - 2003 and had 12 assists and 16 points.  In 2002 - 2003, he was named the 19th Captain in Warriors history.

After graduating from the WHL, Anderson went on to attend the University of Alberta where he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and in 2013, he obtained his Chartered Accountants designation.  While attending school, he played five seasons for the Golden Bears and in 176 games he had 55 goals, 101 assists, and 156 points.

During his time at the University of Alberta, Anderson was named the USports University Cup MVP in 2006, 2008 he was named the Canada West (USports) Most Outstanding Defenceman and Most Valuable Player, and won a national championship.

Anderson went on to play one season with the American Hockey League (2007 - 2008) with the Springfield Falcons, and then the following year he played in Germany with the Heilbronn Falcons.

Today, Anderson and his family live in Salmon Arm, BC where he is a partner in an accounting firm.

Lorne Humphries was part of the original group that helped bring the Warriors to Moose Jaw from Winnipeg.  Transcripts from Humphries and this group to the Western Hockey League can be traced back to June 1982.  The group had originally inquired about a new or relocated franchise for the 1983 - 1984 season.

Determined to bring the Western Hockey League to Moose Jaw, Humphries and the original group continued to pursue a franchise and on December 30, 1983, they were informed by the league that the sale and transfer of the Winnipeg Warriors to Moose Jaw.

Armstrong, Anderson, and Humphries will be inducted to the Conexus Warriors and Legends Hall of Fame during a ceremony at Mosaic Place on Friday, February 7th.  They will be honoured again Saturday, February 8th before the Hall of Fame Game against the Saskatoon Blades at Mosaic Place.

Tickets for the 2019 Conexus Warriors and Legends Hall of Banquet are $75 each or $500 for a table of eight.  They are available at the Warriors Office located in Mosaic Place or from Hall of Fame Committee members.
