SPOKANE, Wash. - The Texas Rangers' No. 13 overall prospect Travis Demeritte, who led all Class A batters in home runs in 2014, has been added to the Spokane Indians roster for the remainder of the 2015 season. The second baseman was drafted in the first round of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
Last season in Hickory, Demeritte hit 25 home runs with 66 RBI and a .310 on-base percentage. He was honored with the MiLB Joe Bauman Home Run Award after leading all Class A hitters in long balls.
The 20-year-old was hitting .241 with five homers, 19 RBI and 10 stolen bases with the Hickory Crawdads this season.
