Traverse City Beach Bums News Release
TRAVERSE CITY, MI: The Traverse City Beach Bums announce their 2007 schedule and with it the addition of two new Frontier League teams: the Southern Illinois Miners (Marion, IL www.southernillinoisminers.com ) and a yet to be named team in Slippery Rock, PA. (for more information: www.srprobaseball.com.) The Beach Bums home opener will be Friday, May 25, 2007 @ 7:05 PM against division rival, the Kalamazoo Kings.
Frontier League changes for 2007:
- There will be three four team divisions for the 2007 season: North, East & West.
- The Beach Bums will play in the North Division with the Kalamazoo Kings, Rockford RiverHawks and Windy City Thunderbolts. East Division: Washington Wild Things, Slippery Rock, Florence Freedom and Chillicothe Paints. West Division: Evansville Otters, Gateway Grizzlies, Southern Illinois Miners & River City Rascals.
- Division rivals will play two/four game series with out-of-division series being three game sets.
- The Beach Bums will play 51 home games during the 2007 season.
BEACH BUMS SUMMER WITHDRAWAL OPEN HOUSE
The Traverse City Beach Bums are extending an invitation to the public to come out to Wuerfel Park and visit us at the gift shop. The start to the holiday shopping weekend is also a great time to take a break, reminisce about the 2006 season and chat about the changes 2007 will bring. Special store hours Friday through Sunday, November 24 through 26th. Season tickets will be available along with Beach Bums merchandise. Enjoy a hot dog and Pepsi product on us! Fans will be able to register for a chance to win two season tickets, baseball themed grills or one of thirty gift certificates. The first 100 people each day will receive a free autograph book (great for getting autographs later in the day.) Preview the 2006 Season Memories DVD on the scoreboard video screen! SPECIAL WEEKEND HOURS: Friday, November 24 through Sunday, November 26: 9 AM through 5 PM. Special appearances daily by Beach Bum favorites: DJ Jazzy J, Suntan, Sunburn, Manager Jeff Isom and second baseman Steve Young between 1PM - 5PM.
