2005 Dodge AHL All-Stars Read To Manchester Students

MANCHESTER, NH – Elementary students from 10 Manchester area schools received some very special guests on Monday morning thanks to the Manchester Monarchs and the American Hockey League, hosts of the 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic. Members of the PlanetUSA and Canadian AHL All-Star teams and mascots representing teams from the AHL stopped by the area schools to read Z is for Zamboni to the assembled students. After reading to the students, the All-Star visitors donated the book, autographed by all of the players participating in the 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic, to the schools.

The list of schools that hosted the All-Stars includes: Beech Street School (333 Beech Street), Green Acres Elementary School (100 Aurore Avenue), Highland Goffs Falls School (2021 Goffs Falls Road), Jewett Elementary School (130 South Jewett Street), McDonough Elementary School (550 Lowell Street), Varney Elementary School (223 James Pollock Drive), Smyth Road Elementary School (245 Bruce Road), Webster Elementary School (2519 Elm Street), Weston Elementary School (1066 Hanover Street) and Wilson Elementary School (401 Wilson Street).

The 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic concludes with the AHL All-Star Game, scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on Monday, February 14. The annual showcase that features some of the finest young talent in the game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 starting at 7:00 p.m. Center Michael Cammalleri and goalie Mathieu Garon will represent the Monarchs on the Canadian AHL All-Star team while left wing Dustin Brown and defenseman Denis Grebeshkov are members of the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star team. The PlanetUSA squad will be coached by Monarchs head coach Bruce Boudreau, and Monarchs assistant coaches Jim Hughes and Dane Jackson.
