Hilbert helps pace All-Star win
February 14, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Portland Pirates News Release
Providence Bruins forwards Andy Hilbert and Patrice Bergeron played in the 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic on Monday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire, with Hilbert scoring in a shootout to help the PlanetUSA All-Stars to a 5-4 shootout victory. Hilbert also scored a second period goal, while Bergeron had two first period assists for the Canadian All-Stars.
Hilbert, 24, had an All-Star Classic to remember in the third appearance of his four-year career. He became the first player ever to hit all four targets on four shots in Sunday's Dodge Accuracy Shooting Event, before following up on Monday with his fourth career All-Star goal. His shootout goal was PlanetUSA's third, cementing the win. In three AHL All-Star Games (2002, 2003, 2005), Hilbert has 4-2-6 totals.
Hilbert leads the Bruins and is tied for fifth in AHL scoring with 59 points in 53 games. He is tied for third in the league with 27 goals and leads the league with 237 shots on goal.
Bergeron, 19, played on Monday and had his two assists, despite being questionable prior to the event, due to a severe bout with the flu. Bergeron ranks third on the Bruins with 16-29-45 totals in 42 games.
The Bruins return home on Friday, February 18 at 7:05 p.m., when they host the Albany River Rats. They also host the Springfield Falcons on Sunday, February 20 at 4:05 p.m.
Sunday's game will be a "McDonald's Family 4-Pack" night. Fans can purchase four tickets and four McDonald's Extra Value Meals for just $48. "McDonald's Family 4-Packs" are only available by logging on to www.providencebruins.com, or by calling the Bruins at (401) 273-5000.
